Dr Duffuor's lawyers announced that the case had been closed
Dr. Kwabena Duffuor has dismissed the interlocutory lawfiled against the party'supcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.
Dr. Kwabena Duffuor filed a petition in court on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, for intervention inthe NDC primaries scheduledfor Saturday, May 13, 2023. Hecited discrepancies in the NDC electoral records for his case, filed a complaint with the Election Commission.
In court on May 12, Kwabena Duffour's lawyer, Kofi Kukubor asked for his dismissal. Therespondents in the case replied that they had no objection to the application.
On this basis, the High Court of Accra dismissed the legal petition of Dr. Kwabena Duffour against the National Democratic Congress (NDC)presidential and parliamentary primaries. Speaking after the court hearing, the secretary general of the party said that he was happy with the decision made by the same party that had previously said that no trial would begin.
In an interview he said; "Yes, he was satisfied. The list of representatives is the firstdocument we trust and this list is approved and made available to all candidates.
He added, "Of course, in our case, there was no case in the first place, but we are happy that they decided to take it down."
