As part of the bank's corporate social obligations, scholarships and bursaries worth GH31,200 were given to these deserving yet bright pupils.
Out of the 51 applications the bank received, 39 students were chosen following a careful review by the bank's scholarship committee.
Beneficiaries
The chosen recipients include first-year and continuing students enrolled in a range of universities, nursing schools, and teacher preparation programs. They are also pursuing a range of academic specializations.
The Tweapease Senior High Technical School once again asked the bank for assistance.
50 serving pots for GHC 5,000 were authorized after the board and management gave the request careful consideration in order to ensure the smooth opening of the new boarding school.
The check was handed over by Abraham Coffie, the bank's chief executive officer, along with other members of the management team, and Theophilus Yeboah, the headmaster of the Tweapease Senior High Technical School, accepted it on behalf of the pupils.
Journalists
In an interview with the media, Mr. Coffie stated that the selection methods for the scholarship program were quite fair and open.
As the main requirement, he stated that parents or children of potential beneficiaries of the plan must be bank shareholders and come from any of the bank's operational regions.
The CEO had a firm notion that this financial aid would inspire and motivate program participants to work even harder in their studies so they could give their fair share to local and national development.
Mr. Coffie further urged the students who would benefit from his advice to set aside time for their studies and to stop focusing on pointless and unnecessary things that would squander their time.
