Mendy joins 'new agency' & is ready for transfer after Pochettino request
Chelsea transfer news: Mendy could leave Chelsea this summer after a difficult last 12 months
Edouard Mendy, the goalkeeper for Chelsea, might quit the team this summer if a "good proposal" is made.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Mendy switched agencies last week, signing with Lian Sports, and his new agent Fali Ramadani will handle his future affairs. Mendy has been demoted to Chelsea's backup goalkeeper position behind Kepa Arrizabalaga following a string of mistakes at the close of last season and the start of this one.
Despite having injury issues this season, the Senegalese international hasn't started a game for the Blues in any competition since a 1-0 loss at Newcastle United in November. Again, Kepa, Mendy's replacement, hasn't exactly dazzled everyone since regaining the top spot either, with old faults like his long-shot skill reappearing.
What Chelsea will do with the goaltender issue this summer is still unknown because they want to finish a managerial appointment first. Although there hasn't been a formal announcement, many people think Mauricio Pochettino will replace Graham Potter.
As he attempts to strengthen the spine at Stamford Bridge, Pochettino is eager to expand his alternatives in goal, according to reports from earlier this week. Mendy's career at the club would undoubtedly come to an end if a new goalkeeper was added, dropping him to West London's third choice.
Mendy did contribute significantly to Chelsea's Champions League victory in 2021 under Thomas Tuchel, despite a dismal last year.
the Senegalese national has not been up to standard of late and has not started a match at the in almost 3-4 months with Leo’s stepping up a little more it seems like Eduardo mendy has lost his place in the team off late which I turn calls for a transfer which would see him get more game time
