The NDC faces a new law a day before the May 13 primaries

 Asamoah Boateng has filed a petition at the High Court of Adenta, seeking a constitution for the NDC presidential and parliamentary candidatesscheduled for Saturday, May 13, 2023.

In short, the petitioner pointed out that the NDC has not issued the register because it continues to issue conflicting regulations for the release of the register, which creates uncertainty. hand and confidence of the upcomingelections. The petitioner arguesthat the delay of the union and the secretary-general providesa complete and credible recordof the photo album before the president and parliament for approval, as a plan to create value and -Incorrect for fraud in presidential and parliamentary primaries.

He therefore filed summons against the party, NDC and EC. Below are the complaint conditions: 

The applicant
 is a citizen of Ghana, a holder of the National Democratic Congress card, a registered political party in Ghana.

The plaintiff
 is currently running for the 1st member legislative election 



The complainant
 also stated that his NDC party card is F240540024 and that he is a member of Abuakwa North Branch of Zara 1st Party. The first respondent is a registered political party in Ghana.

The 2nd Respondent is the elected Secretary General of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and de facto Chief Executive Officer of the 1st Respondent Party. The third defendant is the president of the 1st.

The 4th respondent is empowered under the 1992 constitution of Ghana to manage the conduct of elections and public elections,including all elections conducted by the 1st respondent, said the 1st respondent's constitution binds one party to elect at least 20 presidents and parliamentarians. four (24) months before the next general election if the President of Ghana is not a member of the1st respondent and if the member of Parliament for oneconstituency is not a member. The Plaintiff alleges that Defendant 1 cannot meet the deadline set by the Constitution in its constitution for the 2024 General after the election was postponed to May 13, 2023.



The Plaintiff asserts that
 the failure to meet the statutory deadline was due to the failureof the 1st party. The petitioner said that he and other partymembers from different parts of the country have presentedtheir documents and prepared them to be the first respondents in the upcoming presidential and general parliamentary elections. -takes place in December 2024.

The petitioner adds that at the end of the confirmation process, members such as himself and others, including the former President of the Republic, assure that all those who seek the election of the legislature and the presiding officer shall receive the recordof the electors in good form. free from all duplication, errorand doubt. registration to allowall candidates to participate in free and fair elections. The petitioner asserts that, in particular, the second party ensured that all the candidates were given a photo ID to enable all eligible persons to identifythe polling officers and the polling officers. hand quickly during the election.

The petitioner adds that the publication of the photo albumof the record of those who areeligible for the internal elections must be available at least one month before the next internal elections to allow presidential candidates and parliamentarians verify the accuracy of voter records in all branches. in the two hundred and seventy-five (275) districtsof the party as part of the process required to ensure free, fair and credible elections on May 13, 2023. The applicant reiterates the statement in paragraph 13 above of this statement and adds that this measure is in line with the best practice in modern democratic elections to ensure that the photo record is complete, accurate and improved free and fair elections and reduce disputes over election results in this regard. consistent with the goals and objectives of the Democratic National Congress as set forth in Article 7 of the party constitution.


The plaintiff claims that the 4th defendant that every public election he organizes is basedon this practice.

The plaintiff adds that he was surprised, the 1st and 2nd defendants did not give his representative (the Complainant) the names of the voters and all the others,including the politicians. The petitioner said the failure to provide proper photo albums of eligible candidates has led to anger and unrest within the party.

The plaintiff said
 that becauseof the anger and the chaos mentioned above, some members of the party who are desperate filed a lawsuitagainst the party. The petitioner said that all effortsto obtain a directory or photoalbum fell on deaf ears and there were indications that the party's upcoming localelections would be a disaster.

The plaintiff claims that
 the 1st person himself gave contradictory instructions on the publication of the register and caused uncertainty aroundthe credibility of the upcomingelections. The plaintiff arguesthat the 1st and 2nd Defendants 'do not want to provide a complete and credible photo album record in the future that the president and the parliament require approval similar to the plan that creates unfair benefits for the fraud of the president primaries and parliamentarians.

Similarly,
 the plaintiff speaksagainst the defendants in support of the summons.
