MUDRYK IN TROUBLE AS CHELSEA TARGETING STAR KLOPP THINKS IS 'WORLD CLASS'

Since his £88 million blockbuster January transfer to Chelsea, Mykhaylo Mudryk has struggled to establish a regular spot in the team and has yet to score a goal in his new team's colors. His situation could still get worse as Todd Boehly is reportedly eyeing another winger who could push the Ukrainian further down the Stamford Bridge pecking order: Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha.

Given that Zaha's contract at Selhurst Park expires at the end of the current campaign, journalist Dean Jones informed GiveMeSport that the Ivorian is one of Chelsea's prospective transfer targets this summer. . The Blues have a lot of forwards on their roster right now, including Mudryk, Raheem Sterling, Kai Havertz, Noni Madueke, Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount, Hakim Ziyech, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

However, several of them are anticipated to leave Stamford Bridge as part of a clear-out after Boehly and company spent more than £600 million on players in the previous two transfer windows. Although Zaha would command high salaries, the hierarchy would undoubtedly find it appealing to get a player of his caliber on a free transfer at a time when they are on the verge of financial fair play regulations and it is uncertain whether they will be able to continue spending at the rate of the previous 12 months.

Since joining Palace from Manchester United in 2014, Zaha has been the team's standout player. His talent in the Premier League is evident; Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp acknowledged that Zaha is "a world-class player" after one of the Reds' matches with Palace.

Liverpool defeated Palace 4-3 at Anfield in 2019. "They are really good at counter-attacks and set pieces, Wilfried Zaha is a world-class player and he gets into a one-on-one situation and we're one down," Klopp remarked.

Zaha is available on a free transfer this summer, and while Chelsea are interested in him, he may attract attention from other teams as well. He has been linked to a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia and may emulate Cristiano Ronaldo by doing so. . He reportedly turned down an offer from Al-Ittihad for a deal worth £9 million a season after taxes and plans to stay in Europe.
