Cape Town City coach Eric Tinkler believes that Richard Bay will be a tough team to break

Tinkler the coach of Cape Town City, anticipates a challenging game against Richards Bay when the Citizens host the Natal Rich Boys at Athlone Stadium on Saturday. Tinkler recognizes that Richards Bay will not be an easy team to defeat as they have proven their ability to be resolute on the counter-attack. City enters the penultimate match of the DStv Premiership season having recorded just one victory in their last five matches, with three draws and a defeat. However, they have been unbeaten in their last six home matches at Cape Town Stadium, and they hope to maintain that form with a change in venue.

Tinkler stressed the importance of positivity and good intensity in their play to turn the chances that they created in their previous game into goals. He acknowledged that consistency and continuity in their approach were essential to finish the season strongly.

Richards Bay, who currently occupy 13th spot on the DStv Premiership table, will aim to avoid the relegation zone in their coming matches. With only three points separating them from the relegation play-off position, they will have to overturn their recent run of consecutive defeats to have any chance of avoiding the drop. They are winless in their last 12 league matches, having suffered two consecutive defeats at the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns and Chippa United.

Somila Ntsundwana, a player for Richards Bay, stated that they would have to play with a high level of motivation to maintain their PSL status. He emphasized the importance of going all out to win without pressure and doing it for themselves. In terms of players to watch, Khanyisa Mayo and Lyle Lakay have been standout performers for Cape Town City this season, while Luvuyo Memela and Sanele Barns are expected to lead the attack for Richards Bay.

In summary, Tinkler is aware that Richards Bay will be a tough nut to crack, but he hopes that City can maintain their recent form at their new venue. On the other hand, Richards Bay needs to overturn their recent run of defeats to avoid the drop. Both teams have players to watch, and the encounter promises to be an exciting game with much at stake for both teams.
