According to 90min, Tottenham Hotspur has given up on Julian Nagelsmann and will now look elsewhere for a head coach to fill the vacancy.
Since parting company with the Italian coach at the end of March, Tottenham has been searching for a long-term replacement for Antonio Conte. Initial caretaker duties were handled by his assistant Cristian Stellini, who was later replaced by Ryan Mason.
Thomas Tuchel succeeded Nagelsmann at Bayern Munich two days before Conte was fired, and Nagelsmann, who has long been popular in north London, was immediately linked to the Tottenham position.
However, after having had preliminary discussions with the German, sources have told 90min that they are no longer considering him for the position.
After managing director of football Fabio Paratici left the club owing to a worldwide football ban, 90min earlier claimed Nagelsmann had concerns about the club's organizational structure.
Tottenham will now turn its attention to other targets, such as Arne Slot of Feyenoord, though negotiations have been stymied by their participation in the Eredivisie title fight. Although Luis Enrique previously met with Spurs, talks have stalled.
The club has fans of Xabi Alonso of Bayer Leverkusen, Marco Silva of Fulham, and Michael Carrick of Middlesbrough, as well as of the out-of-work managers Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter.
The 35-year-old was a candidate for the position of Spurs manager in 2021, but he is not being taken into account right now.
According to the PA news agency, Tottenham have no plans to interview Julian Nagelsmann for the open managerial position.
Since his unexpected departure from Bayern Munich at the end of March, Nagelsmann has been frequently mentioned in connection with the position.
Before Bayern swooped in to hire one of the most highly sought-after young coaches in international football, the 35-year-old was in the race for the Spurs post in 2021.
It was expected that Nagelsmann would again be in the running for the vacant coaching position at the Premier League club when Antonio Conte abruptly left Tottenham following the German coach's dramatic departure from the Bundesliga winners.
