At the conclusion of the upcoming season, the Spanish goalkeeper's contract with Brentford will expire.
David Raya has been described as a "£40 million plus" goalkeeper by Thomas Frank, who also acknowledged that he might leave Brentford at the end of the current campaign.
Raya's current contract at the Gtech Community Stadium is slated to expire at the conclusion of the 2023–24 season, although he has declined possibilities to extend it.
Frank also praised Ivan Toney, Brentford's leading scorer, despite intense speculation regarding both players' futures.
Without a doubt, David (Raya) is a case where we still have a year to see what will happen. David is here, and we couldn't be happier," Frank remarked.
Everyone is aware that he is a goalkeeper worth at least £40 million, and we are ready for any position.
For the proper price, there's a chance he'll depart this summer, and if that occurs, we obviously need to be ready.
Toney has scored 20 Premier League goals so far, up from the 12 he scored in the previous campaign, and Frank praised the striker's abilities and career path, which led to a 2020 transfer from Peterborough.
"I adore Ivan, and I think what he has accomplished here is amazing, but there is still more for him to do. The Bees manager continued, "I'm very, really glad he's a Brentford player.
"He performed admirably in League One, then excelled in the Championship and was promoted. He scored 12 Premier League goals last season and now has 20, with the possibility of scoring even more. He has good potential, in my opinion.
"I understand that Toney is older than 22 but look at some of the finest strikers in the world, like (Robert) Lewandowski and (Karim) Benzema. They appear to be exquisite wines that are only getting better and they know how to be in good situations. Ivan will likely continue to improve.
