Evans Nimako, the chief electoral officer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed concern about the internal crisis within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) before his May 13 presidential and legislative primaries.

Evans Nimako told the party to seek advice from the NPP if they do not understand how to handle such situations. "For us,the New Patriotic Party, we wish them luck and if they watch what we do and learn from us, it will help them. I will make a request, we all go to the IPAC meeting so that if there is anything they can feel free and contact us and we are ready to help them," he said. Speaking in an interview on Okay FM on May 11, 2023, he criticized the NDC chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, popularly known as General Mosquito, for apparently targeting one of the running for president, is Dr. Kwabena Duffour.

"If
they take some time and sort out their domestic affairs, I think that will help them, but I don't think the situation the president of the country has done is helping because as a president of a country you should stay away different. and listen to both. again and decide the appropriate solution. But what he (Asiedu Nketiah) is doing seems to be against Duffuor.

He added, "Your ex-finance
minister was earlier and you thought he was one of the party's finance officers, but now you are accusing him of being a bad person. , it's up to them." It can be recalled that Dr. Kwabena Duffour, the hopeful carrier of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), filed a petition against the party's presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled for Saturday, May 13, 2023.

The case named the NDC general secretary, the Chief Electoral Officer, as well asfellow flag hopefuls John Dramani Mahama and candidate Kojo Bonsu as respondents. According to the newspaper, the defendants were given eight days to appear after the summons.

The article added that failure to comply with the law couldresult in convictions in absentiawithout further notice. However, Dr Duffuor removedthe interlocutory injunction against the party leaders and also dropped out of the presidential race.
