A few days after the Weija ship disaster, and the presidents are silent - the deputy is crying

deputy member of the education committee in parliament, Dr Clement Apaak, wonders why President Akufo-Addo and his deputy, DrMahamamudu Bawumia, refused to talk about the boat disaster that claimed the lives of nine children and Weird.

To
him, the president or his vice president should answer the question and console the bereaved families. Nine bodies have been recovered from the shipwreck on Wednesday.

The nine children are believed to have drowned around Faana in Weija Gbawe town in Accra. The ninth body was foundaccording to authorities yesterday, Thursday May 11, 2023.

Traditional authorities performrituals to enable the family to bury the soul of the deceased. It was also revealed that there were 12 children on boardwhen it capsized.

Responding,
the lawmaker representing voters in Builsa South said that if it happened elsewhere, he would have reacted. In a tweet, he said: 'It's been 24 hours but there is no word from Akufo-Addo or Bawumia about the boat accident that drowned 9 students. It's not a word to comfort the grieving parents and the country mourns. If this had happened elsewhere,Akufo-Addo would have offeredword of consolation.
