Rasmus Kristensen scored a second-half equaliser to give Leeds United a draw

Leeds United managed to secure a 2-2 draw against Newcastle United in a dramatic Premier League clash that saw Leeds miss a penalty, concede two more, and have a player sent off in stoppage time. Defender Rasmus Kristensen scored a powerful equalizer in the second half to secure the point for the home side.

Leeds took the lead in the seventh minute of the game as captain Luke Ayling fired home a rebound. They could have gone two up in the 28th minute when Joelinton fouled Junior Firpo in the box, resulting in a penalty. However, Nick Pope saved Patrick Bamford's spot-kick, denying Leeds the chance to extend their lead.

Newcastle were quick to respond and levelled the score in the 31st minute from a penalty of their own, scored by Callum Wilson. Midway through the second half, Firpo handled the ball in the box, resulting in another penalty for Newcastle. This time, Wilson made no mistake and put his side into the lead.

The drama continued when Leeds managed to equalize in the 79th minute. Newcastle failed to clear a corner, and Kristensen capitalized on the loose ball to hammer home a deflected equalizer from the edge of the area. This goal reignited the home crowd's hopes of avoiding relegation as they held on for the draw.

Firpo received his second yellow card in second-half stoppage time and was sent off, leaving Leeds to play with ten men. Despite this, Newcastle was unable to take advantage of their numerical superiority and secure a late winner.

With the draw, Leeds moved up one spot to 18th on the Premier League table with 31 points, one point behind Everton in 17th. Meanwhile, Newcastle remained third in the table with 66 points, three ahead of Manchester United and four ahead of Liverpool.

Overall, it was an eventful and thrilling match that kept fans on the edge of their seats until the final whistle. Leeds will undoubtedly be pleased with their performance, particularly after coming back from a goal down to secure a vital point in their quest for Premier League survival.
