Liverpool are trying to sabotage Manchester United's plans by reaching out to a highly regarded sporting director first, despite concerns that he has chosen to go elsewhere.
Liverpool had a brilliant time when Michael Edwards was their sporting director. The transfer specialist has worked alongside Jurgen Klopp and helped the Reds win some great deals.
Edwards has played a key role in signing Liverpool stars like Mo Salah, Alisson, Virgil van Dijk and Fabinho. But he also made big money for the club by selling unwanted players like Rhian Brewster, Dominic Solanke and Danny Ward for more than they were worth.
