If Mason Greenwood stays with the team until the end of his contract in 2025, Manchester United will pay him an additional £8 million.
Greenwood received a four-and-a-half-year contract from the club in 2021 after completing the United academy and making the first team under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Greenwood last appeared for United in January of 2022, just before the club suspended him after his arrest on rape and assault charges.
Although the 21-year-old's charges were dropped in February, the club has continued to look into the incident internally.
The former England international has been paid his weekly salary of £75,000 during this time but is not permitted to return to training.
Since the accusations against him were dropped, Greenwood is now free to resume his football career, but the player reportedly told friends that he doesn't think he'll ever play for the club again.

He wants to resume playing football but is aware of how complicated his situation is and that it is entirely his fault.
Although he is determined to play football once more, he doubts that he would ever put on a Manchester United jersey.
According to rumours, United are willing to loan the forward out, and several European clubs are interested in signing him.
Greenwood has previously been linked to a move to Juventus, and it is also stated that Serie A rivals AC Milan are interested in signing him due to their admiration for his technical ability.
Greenwood was thought to be one of the most promising players to have recently come out of United's illustrious academy system before he was arrested.
Greenwood joined the team in March 2019 and has since made 127 appearances for the first team in all competitions, scoring 35 goals.
