Bayern Munich have gone four points clear on  top the Bundesliga table

Bayern Munich has taken a significant step towards securing their 11th straight Bundesliga title with a resounding 6-0 victory over struggling Schalke. The win has extended Bayern's lead atop the league table by four points over Borussia Dortmund, who were set to play Borussia Moenchengladbach later that day.

Bayern captain Thomas Mueller, who was given a starting position after being named on the bench in the last two games, opened the scoring after 21 minutes, easing his side's nerves. Joshua Kimmich doubled Bayern's lead shortly after, converting a penalty despite losing his footing in the box.

Schalke's slim hopes of a comeback were dashed early in the second half when Serge Gnabry scored his third goal in as many matches. Gnabry added another goal midway through the second half, while Mathys Tel and Noussair Mazraoui also found the back of the net.

The defeat left Schalke in the relegation playoff spot with three games remaining, while Union Berlin solidified their hopes of a first-ever Champions League appearance with a 4-2 home win over RB Leipzig. Eintracht Frankfurt won their first game in 11 matches, thrashing Mainz 3-0 at home, despite manager Oliver Glasner's stadium ban.

Bochum took advantage of Schalke's poor result in Munich, beating Augsburg 3-2 at home and moving out of the relegation places by a single point. Wolfsburg responded from their 6-0 loss to Dortmund with a 2-1 home win over Hoffenheim, moving into the Europa Conference League spot.

Bayern's win has put them on course for another successful season, and they will look to wrap up the title in the coming weeks. Dortmund, on the other hand, will need to win their remaining games and hope for Bayern to slip up if they are to have any chance of claiming the title.

In summary, Bayern Munich's dominant 6-0 win over Schalke has put them four points clear atop the Bundesliga table and on course for an 11th consecutive title. While Schalke's hopes of avoiding relegation were further diminished, Union Berlin solidified their chances of a Champions League spot, and Eintracht Frankfurt won their first game in 11 matches. Bochum also moved out of the relegation places, and Wolfsburg responded from their heavy loss to Dortmund with a win over Hoffenheim.
