As the season approaches its final fortnight, Mikel Arteta vows that his Arsenal team will continue to strive for Premier League success.
The Gunners have played one extra game but were only one point behind Manchester City going into the weekend.
On Sunday, Arsenal will host Brighton at the Emirates Stadium in an attempt to reclaim the top spot that they held for the duration of the season.
After a run of three straight draws and a 4-1 beating against City, the title's fate was removed from their control.
Since then, Arsenal has recovered with convincing victories against Chelsea and Newcastle, and Arteta is pressing his players to keep up the good effort until the season is complete.
We will keep digging, he urged, adding, "Dig, dig, dig, dig."
"And perhaps the award is there. Even though we don't know if it's there, we will keep digging to the best of our ability in case it is somewhere we can reach.
The stakes are really high, and we are motivated to win in the greatest way possible. We need to win our games in order to accomplish that, and Brighton is our first opponent. "That is going to make it really complicated," the coach said.
After City has played relegation-threatened Everton, Arsenal will take the field against the Seagulls.
Before going to Arsenal, Arteta spent six and a half years at Goodison Park. He is now requesting a favor from his old team after they shocked Brighton by defeating them 5-1 last week.
They were clearly competing for their lives against Brighton in the most recent match, he said.
"Sean (Dyche) has re-established that faith and that unity around the team and the supporters to produce something extraordinary.I'm a great Everton supporter, and this weekend won't make a difference in my desire for the best for them. They achieved some excellent accomplishments and several that were deserving of higher praise. The past few months have seen intense competition between them.
