Arsenal's Bukayo Saka overtakes 16 Man Utd stars including Rashford and Fernandes
Bukayo Saka is on the verge of surpassing numerous Manchester United players as he prepares to sign a new contract with Arsenal. According to TalkSPORT, Saka has agreed to a substantial deal worth 300,000 per week, which will make him the highest-paid player at the club. This new contract represents a significant increase from his current salary and sources from the Independent suggest that an official announcement regarding the agreement will be made before the end of the current season.
In terms of wages, Saka is set to outstrip a long list of notable players, including 16 individuals from Erik ten Hag's Manchester United squad. For instance, players like Mason Greenwood, Tyrell Malacia, and Phil Jones currently earn 75,000 per week, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka's salary stands at 90,000. Dean Henderson, the loanee goalkeeper, brings in 100,000, and Donny van de Beek, Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof, and Fred are reportedly earning 120,000 per week. Furthermore, Christian Eriksen and Luke Shaw receive 150,000 each, and Harry Maguire, the captain, falls just short of 190,000. The wages of Marcus Rashford and Antony reach 200,000, while Bruno Fernandes, a key player for Manchester United, earns 240,000 per week. Saka's new contract will see him overtake Anthony Martial, the 16th player on the list, who earns 250,000. Notably, Saka's wages will align with the current wage of Casemiro, a player at Real Madrid.
Among Premier League players, only seven individuals currently earn more than 300,000 per week. This exclusive group includes Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho, and David de Gea from Manchester United, all surpassing the 300,000 mark. Additionally, Raheem Sterling from Chelsea earns 325,000 per week, while Mohamed Salah from Liverpool is on 350,000. Erling Haaland, a rising star, brings in 375,000, with only Kevin De Bruyne of Manchester City ahead on 400,000 per week.
After a lengthy negotiation period spanning 18 months, both parties have finally reached an agreement on the terms of Saka's new contract. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the imminent signing, stating that it is now just a matter of time. The deal was settled two months ago and remains unchanged. Saka's new contract is expected to run until June 2028, signifying a long-term commitment to Arsenal. The club is anticipated to make an official announcement regarding the contract extension in the near future, with hopes that it will be finalized before the conclusion of the current season.
