Man United have moved closer to claiming next season's Champions League spot with a 2-0 win at Old Trafford over Wolves in the Premier League.
Manchester United beat Wolves 2-0 at Old Trafford to cement their place in the Premier League top four and move closer to a return to the Champions League.
United are looking to claim next season's Champions League spot and they're one step closer to securing it with three points ahead of the West Midlands side. Anthony Martial put United ahead at half-time after being found in the box by Antony.
United finally scored the winning goal in stoppage time in the second half. Bruno Fernandes brought on Alejandro Garnacho as a substitute and the teen shot the ball wide to give Erik ten Hag's team the score. United are currently four points clear of fifth-placed Liverpool. They remain fourth but are level on points with Newcastle United, with the Magpies ahead of them in the table thanks to a superior goal difference.
The win not only moves United one step closer to a return to Europe's top club competition next season, but also ensures rewards for two big names at Old Trafford. These involve Ten Hag and goalkeeper David de Gea.
The win saw Ten Hag rack up the most wins of any United boss in his first season in charge of the club. The win is United's 39th win in all competitions this campaign, including an FA Cup semi-final win over Brighton & Hove Albion on penalties, with United winning 20 Premier League games this season. .
And with De Gea, he is sure to share at least the Premier League Golden Glove this season. His clean sheet against Wolves was his 16th so far in the Premier League this campaign.
His closest rivals are Alisson from Liverpool, Nick Pope from Newcastle and Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal. The trio have kept 13 clean sheets in all this campaign and with all four teams now having three games left this season, they can only match De Gea's record, not beat him. De Gea can make an unquestionable bid and guarantee he will be 100 per cent fit if he keeps a clean sheet in United's next Premier League game. That happens next Saturday at Bournemouth.
