With time running out to avoid the drop, the Foxes host Liverpool.

Dean Smith, the manager of Leicester, has urged his team to bear the emotional weight of their relegation struggle.

With three games left, the Foxes host Liverpool needing a win badly as they are two points from safety.

The 2016 champions were put under further stress after Leeds' 2-2 draw with Newcastle, which also caused them to plummet to the basement of the Premier League.

Smith, who took over for Brendan Rodgers until the rest of the season last month, is aware of how critical it is for the Foxes to maintain their composure.

Because that's the one thing the players can control, he explained, "my approach has always been to challenge the players in terms of their performances."

"They must make intelligent judgments before the game, and they have done so because else they would not have won the FA Cup a few years ago. There are also Premier League champions among the players present.

"What they've done in the past demonstrates that they are strong decision-makers, but now when the competition is fierce, we must ensure that we are all skilled decision-makers.

"We've demonstrated in every game we've played thus far that we can come back from being down a goal, and they are aware that they can do the same.

We anticipated Fulham would press us, and if they did, we needed to play past them on the push to score the third goal.

We needed to make a change at halftime, and doing so might have given us a little more room to maneuver in the second half since we wanted to press a little harder.

"With the exception of the 45 minutes at Fulham, where I thought we were too passive, we looked a yard off it, I've seen a really good attitude and application to training and to the matches that we've had.

"I don't know if that was psychological, but it seemed to be because I got the running numbers afterwards and I think we were slightly higher than Fulham in every metric," the player said. Our duty is to remove that psychological tension since it occasionally can cause you to perform technically below par.
