PLAYERS WHO WERE NEVER BOOKED IN ENGLISH FOOTBALL HISTORY

1. Gary Lineker 

The former English striker, Gary Lineker, played for several teams, including Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Barcelona, and others. He also represented the England national team and scored 44 goals in his international career. During his long career, spanning from 1978 to 1994, Lineker never received a yellow or red card. 

2. Sir Stanley Matthews 

Stanley Matthews, one of the greatest players in English football history, played for Stoke City and Blackpool in a career that spanned over three decades, from 1932 to 1965. He won the first Ballon d'Or award in 1956 and was knighted in 1965. Despite his impressive career, Matthews never received a booking during his playing days. 

3. William Beveridge "Billy" Liddell 

The former Scottish player, Liddell, played as a winger for Liverpool and helped the team win numerous titles, including two league championships and an FA Cup. He played for Liverpool from 1938 to 1961, scoring 228 goals in 534 appearances, and remarkably, he never received a yellow or red card throughout his career. 

4. William Ambrose "Billy" 

Wright was a legendary English footballer who captained the England national team in 90 games, a record that stood for over 30 years. He played as a defender for Wolverhampton Wanderers from 1939 to 1959 and made over 400 appearances for the club without ever receiving a booking. 

5. William Ralph "Dixie" Dean Dean was one of the most famous English footballers in history. He played as a striker for Everton from 1923 to 1940. He scored a record-breaking 60 goals in the 1927–28 season, which is still a record in the top-flight league. Despite his physical style of play, Dean never received a booking throughout his career. 

In conclusion, these five players are a testament to the values of fair play, discipline, and sportsmanship in English football. They have set an example for younger players to follow, and their achievement of never being booked will always be remembered in football history.
