Manchester United are stepping up their pursuit of Everton midfielder Amadou Onana, according to reports.
Erik ten Hag is expected to enter the rookie market in midfield this summer, having been extended to midfield this season.
Onana has emerged as a potential target, with the United boss seen as a huge admirer of the 21-year-old.
Indeed, Ten Hag "urged United management to make a move for Onana," Football Insider claimed. While his 'physical' is seen as a much-needed addition to Old Trafford. Advertisement
Onana only arrived at Goodison Park last summer and with his current contract not set to expire until 2027, the Toffees are in a strong negotiating position.
However, things could change if Sean Dyche cannot keep the Merseyside team in the Premier League.
Everton are currently one point above the relegation zone but next face leaders Manchester City, who are on a 13-match unbeaten streak in the league.
