The battle between the Eastern Regional Democratic National Congress (NDC) Youth Organizer Richard Etornam Nyarku and the party's New Juaben South Constituency Youth Organizer broke two teeth this last.
This happened during the parliamentary elections held bythe opposition party on Saturday, May 23, 2023. Although the exercise in the country is generally peaceful, there are pockets of violence in a few areas.
According to reports, the Eastern Region Regional Youth Organizer was accused by the New Juaben South Constituency Youth Organizer popularly known as Rolex to askdelegates from the center to vote for one person. Rolex'saccusations and statements angered the local youth coordinator, leading to a joint discussion among youth leaders.
In the excitement and emotion,Nyarku blew a loud trumpetwhich landed on the jaws of the youth organizing the election and knocked him to the ground unawares. Rolex later became aware and tried to fight back,but the police intervened and took the two away.
He reportedly lost 2 teeth while a local youth coordinator suffered minor injuries. Bothwere arrested at the Koforidua Central Police Station.
