I  announced that the talks between Todd Boehly and Mauricio Pochettino were in the framework of an agreement that lacked the final touches to be official and that involved clarifying some ideas about the way of working on a daily basis and the complicated task that now lies ahead to slim and shape the squad.

Everything has been clarified and in the next few days, the Argentine's return to the Premier League will be official.

Boehly's interest in Pochettino comes from afar, since in the last days of last summer the two already met when the American was looking for a replacement for Thomas Tuchel, who did not convince the new Chelsea ownership.

Now the circumstances are different and the division of roles seems more feasible to carry out, as well as that of shaping an oversized squad that has produced far from the expected performance.

Pochettino is under contract with PSG until June 30, although that detail will not be an obstacle to making the Argentine's contract with Chelsea official.

His team will be the same as always with Jesus Perez, Miguel D'Agostino, Toni Jimenez and Sebastian Pochettino.

Joao Felix, Lukaku, Mount... A lot of work ahead

The main problem is the density of Chelsea's roster of 33 players, plus another 21 players 'placed' in other teams, many of whom must return to the discipline of the London team. That is in addition to recovering players lost to the cause, such as Mason Mount, who is embroiled in a contract battle with the club.

What is clear to Chelsea is that they do not intend to pay what Atletico Madrid are asking for Joao Felix.

The Portuguese forward is also not acclimatised to English soccer and has barely been seen since joining on loan.

Pochettino's new team is far from approaching that amount of 100 million euros that the Spanish club demand.

The truth is that he has not convinced almost no one.

Another player on whom the Argentine must decide is Romelu Lukaku, who ends his loan at Inter and has been surrounded by problems.

Full power for Pochettino

The promise made by Boehly speaks of time and patience to make a competitive team.

The starting point for that is the say the coach will have in making and unmaking signings and shaping the squad, and a three-year contract ratifies this.

Next season's absence from Europe will help to mature an 11 that is currently far from being able to fight for titles, a mission that the Argentine and his team are taking on.

Pochettino has never disconnected from the Premier League or his life in London.

He kept his home and what he has to do now is simply to change the route to go to work every day, which is part of why he prefers England to Spain.
