At the conclusion of this campaign, the contract of the Eagles talisman expires.
Roy Hodgson, the manager of Crystal Palace, thinks the rise of Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise could lessen the impact of a probable Wilfried Zaha departure this summer.
The 30-year-old Eagles talisman's contract expires at the conclusion of this year, but he may have already played his final match for the team after pulling up early in Saturday's 2-0 win over Bournemouth.
Eze reached double digits in goals for the season with his two goals in that match, and 21-year-old Olise added 10 assists, a Palace player record.
It's more of a club question, according to Hodgson. I believe that for a very long time, we have been totally dependent on Wilf. I know that for the last four years I was a member of the team, I was totally dependent on Wilf and what he accomplished for us.
"We were incredibly appreciative of him for his effort and the several victories he helped us secure. With (Olise and Eze), I believe there is now more, if you will, backing for the attacking part of our game.
"Of course, you can also bring up Jordan Ayew, who has made significant progress. As a result, I believe the club is in a better place now than it was when I left four years ago. Will the team miss Wilf Zaha if he leaves, though?
"They will, as Wilf Zaha is a superb player, yes. He is a legendary Crystal Palace athlete. He is well-liked here, and not just by the managers and coaches but also by the audience.
He will therefore be terribly missed if he decides to leave, but perhaps there are a few more players waiting in the wings who can lessen the impact.
Zaha played a key role in the progression of Eze's ninth goal of the season, while Olise delivered the long-range assist that led to the 24-year-old's second goal to give him a total of 10 for the season.
Hodgson, who returned to Selhurst Park for a second stint in March, has been credited by Eze with his recent run of success, but the midfielder's manager has not been as eager to accept the honor.
