Wa Municipal Hospital is in dire need of wheelchairs and stretchers
A midwife in charge of the maternity ward at the Wa Municipal Hospital, Fostina Mwini, expressed concern over the poor condition of thewheelchairs in the facility.
According to him, the insufficient number of wheelchairs in the hospital makes it difficult to providehealth care services to patients without any problems forpatients who need to be transported from the delivery center to the hospital theater. Madam Mwini made this revelation when the Upper West Region Chapter of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA),led by its President, Ubeidu Bin Sidik, donated sanitary pads, detergents and cloths, to the venue. give birth in a hospital to celebrate Mother's Day.
The midwife in charge also complained about the insufficient number of beds, infusion sets and drapes. "We don't have any sheets, I wish Ihad some so I could dress up here properly for you to come and see but they don't. There's no watering place. So what we are doing is throwing water onthe windows to treat our patients,” he lamented.

He therefore called on the government and other aid workers to come to the hospital. Mrs Mwini laterexpressed her gratitude to the Upper West Region GBAChapter for the donation, saying it will greatly help in the treatment of patients.
"There was a time when the bed and the floor of the house was covered in blood. Some patients don't have clean towels and we have to work hard to stop the bleeding.
"However, thanks to your donation, it will help a lot in treating patients who do not have hygiene barriers," headded. On his part, Mr. Sidik who presented the gift on behalf of GBA pointed out that they are in a home where children are born in two faces. First of all, it is about visitingthe lives of mothers, the poorand the poor by giving a small donation to the institution and also thanking the midwives and nurses in the institution. Acknowledging the importance of mothers, the lawyer said that the charity decided last year that whenever Mother's Day is celebrated it will do something special to support poor mothers and those who are - weak.
They also used the opportunityto encourage the midwives at the facility to do more in treating the ward's patients. “We've all been to this job, maybe in your absence. You are also doing the work of those who came before you. The peanuts they pay you are not enough. We want to thank you for all the services you provideto our people,” he said.
He assured the midwives of GBA's prayers and support. He also encouraged them to call the group whenever they have a real problem so that they can bring out what they have to help them.
