Special Prosecutor urges NDC MP aspirants to 'spend money' on corruption charges

The Office of the Special Prosecutor summoned National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate Ejura Sekyeredumase for corruption.

Juliana Kinang Wassan as reported by JoyNews is one of those interested in their actions in the presidential and parliamentary elections of the opposition party on May 13. The aspiring MP Muhammad Bawah Braimah was seen in a viral video standing on a truck pouring money that was thrown at him at the Ahmadiya school grounds where the polls were held.

According to JoyNews reporterNana Boakye Yiadom, there has been a huge rush for money from 10 GH¢ notes to 100 GH¢notes. Juliana Wassan told areporter that she found out she had the money in her car and decided to show her love to her fellow NDC members by sharing the money.

This attracted the attention of Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyabeng. In a letter, OSP said they have opened an investigation into corruption in relation to his actions.

“The PSO considers you to be important to the investigation. You are requested to attend the Special Office at 6 Haile Selassie Avenue, South Ridge, Accra on Thursday 18 May 2023 at 10:00 am for interview.

"You can
be accompanied by a lawyer of your choice."

Joy News reported that other campaigners were called to give the delegates different things at the polling stations.
