Death they say is editable, for it is appointed on a man to die once, although no matter what we may all die when it's time, however, the circumstances which will lead to a person's death are what make it devastating. In this article, a Twitter user shares more light on the cruelty of people. The Twitter user identified as @Elkrosmediahub, narrated how people came to an accident scene to steal the belongings of the people who perished and not to help them. As the conversation was ongoing, people joined and added their one cent to the conversation. His narration and comments from users are highlighted below;

“Someone died in a bike accident at Ozumba last night. He ran straight into a truck carrying long rods with his power bike. Gory scene mean

After his body was taken in a cab later by people I suppose are friends or family, some boys came to the scene, looking for what to steal

Reminded me of a friend who that said after he was involved in an accident, he saw people approach the scene and thought they were there to help, only for one of them to flip him over, take his wallet and phone despite the blood from the blood and fracture”.

“Lost an Uncle in a car accident several yrs ago. A couple of weeks after he passed, his wife saw her

late husband's necklace on the neck of his assistant who was with him (the deceased) on the ill-fated journey. The guy removed a necklace from the body of his unconscious boss”.

@CharleyChiker•

“In November, the vehicle I was in had an accident

on the third mainland bridge in the morning. The first

responder on the scene stole my phone. I was still

in shock, it was later I realized my phone wasn't

with me and I understood what had happened”.

“In 2019, around Ojo barracks in Lagos, I was hit by a

vehicle on my way to the market. My purse and

phone were taken. I was left bleeding until a

woman stopped and rushed me to the nearest

hospital around liana oba market, she told me

they refused to admit me unless she pay 40k”.

“My dad has a near-fatal accident when I was much younger. A Good Samaritan took him to the hospital but no one could identify him because boys had already taken his wallet, suitcase, and wristwatch”.

@odu_agu •

“Last year I had an accident. I passed out and if not

for the man that saw it happen and parked his car

to come and help, who knows if I'll still be alive

because these boys came in droves from

nowhere like they knew it would happen. The

scariest moment of my life”.

@Madam_IyawoOga •

“My friend had an accident along Lag-Ib and

someone who came to "help" took her baby away.

Thank God she regained consciousness early and

when she started asking for her baby, they

spotted someone on the other side of the road

with the baby, gave a hot chase, and recovered her

baby”.

@AnthonyEkene •

“I have heard stories of Nigerians doing the same at

plane crash sites. Scavenging for stuff among

injured people and corpses; ignoring the cries of

people in terrible pain and looking for what to

"take".

@fire raised

“When I had an accident two yrs ago, I saw the way

people were trooping in to "help". My instinct quickly

told me to grab my phone first. With my head spilling

blood, I had to dive my phone”.
