Owusu Afriyie Akoto, a former minister of agriculture, has reaffirmed the need for the New Patriotic Party's delegates to support him in the next primary election so that he may be given the authority to improve circumstances in the agricultural industry.
After visiting the gravesite of one of the party's founders in Logba, in the Afadzato South District, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto delivered the remarks. He said that during his administration, he put into place a variety of novel measures that enhanced farmer livelihoods all around the nation and increased agricultural output.
Dr. Akoto claimed he saw a chance to further his plans for the agricultural industry as the 2024 presidential election nears. He declared his intention to run for president of the NPP, with an emphasis on developing and introducing more cutting-edge methods into the agricultural industry.
Dr. Akoto Afriyie Owusu asserts that he is certain that his expertise as the minister of agriculture would allow him to make significant changes to the industry. He said that, having personally witnessed the difficulties farmers confront, he is aware of what must be done to address them.
In order to boost yields and lower post-harvest losses, he discussed the necessity of making investments in irrigation and contemporary agricultural methods. Additionally, he discussed the significance of value addition and the necessity of supporting agricultural enterprises, which may lead to job creation and economic progress.
Dr. Akoto stated that he is aware that hard work has just begun and that he must persuade the Ghanaian people that he is the right candidate to lead the nation. He further stated that he will demonstrate to the Ghanaian people that he has the knowledge and vision necessary to transform the agriculture industry and build a better future for all Ghanaians.
"I have spent my entire life preparing for this moment, and I'm determined to make the most of it with the support of the NPP delegates behind me. I am confident that I will succeed, and I'm ready to lead Ghana into a brighter and more prosperous future," said Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto.
Dr. Akoto also spoke with the family of the late SG Antor, whom he characterized as a kind man and his late father's closest friend.
The aspirant's honesty and enthusiasm won over the delegates and some party members there, and several of them vowed their support for him.
