Martin Odegaard, the captain of Arsenal, acknowledges that they must draw lessons from Sunday's devastating 3-0 home loss to Brighton.
The visitor's surprise triumph at the Emirates ended the Gunners' tenuous title ambitions after goals from Julio Enciso, Deniz Undav, and Pervis Estupinan in the second half.
Manchester City, who are currently atop the Premier League, just need one more victory from their remaining three games to capture the championship, but they might not even need to play if Arsenal loses to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Prior to the Gunners' match against Brighton, City defeated Everton 3-0. Despite a good first-half performance, Mikel Arteta's team crumbled. The Seagulls took the lead through Enciso in the 51st minute before defeating the hosts with late goals from Undav and Estupinan.
Odegaard replied when asked if attitude was a problem: "No, I don't think so.I thought we were strong coming into the game, but, yes, the reality was much different. We must acknowledge that and draw lessons from it.
Then in the second half, we gave them more and more momentum. "In the first half, we did a lot of excellent things and we had some moments where we could generate some big chances and maybe score a goal or two. They are dangerous when they approach directly, and particularly on our right side, where they assaulted us very easily from behind at the present. There are many things we might improve on.
While Arsenal manager Arteta did not declare defeat in the title battle, Odegaard said it was likely too late for them.
Following City's victory at Goodison Park, the team now has 11 straight victories in the Premier League. This following weekend is anticipated to see the title determined.
"Yeah, it feels like that (the title is over)," Odegaard said to Sky Sports. Now, I believe it will be really challenging. It is challenging to accept, but we have to be honest.Right now, I don't have a pleasant sensation. To be very honest, I have no idea what occurred given the way we performed, especially in the second half, but I am extremely disappointed.
