NDC Primaries: Asiedu Nketiah congratulated the aspirants and delegates

National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has thanked all the volunteers and delegates who participated in the party'spresidential election at the House of Assembly at the weekend.
He also commended the election officials and the police department for their efforts in making the exercise a success.Mr Nketiah expressed his gratitude as the Electoral Commission (EC) declared former President John Mahama the winner of the NDC flag race at the party headquarters in Accra.
Dr Serebour Quaicoe, theElectoral Officer of the EC, announcing the results, said the former president got 297,603 votes representing 98.9% to defeat Mr Kojo Bonsu, theformer mayor of Kumasi who got 3,181 votes. is 1.1% of the votes cast. Mr. Nketiah said one thing that is evident about the primaries is that money no longer determines who will getvotes in the NDC.
"We've heard stories about big,potentially rich people who canwin elections, but not all of them can win regardless of their wealth," he said. Mr.Nketiah said the quality of thecandidates who were selected by the primaries gave the partyhope ahead of the 2024 general elections.
Mr. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the secretary general of the NDC, called for hard work to ensure the victory of the NDC in 2024, saying that the primaries arethe beginning of the party'sjourney in 2024 to "reclaim" the country.
