Lionel Messi, who desires to return to Camp Nou this summer, has reportedly repaired his relationship with Barcelona president Joan Laporta, according to Laporta.
Messi is nearing the end of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain and has been negotiating for a long time about making an emotional comeback to Barcelona. Barcelona is hoping to get the go-ahead from La Liga to announce a deal soon.
After clinching the La Liga championship on Sunday night, Barcelona is now entirely focused on the transfer market, with Messi's return being the main priority.
Following the title win, Laporta promised Jijantes FC, "We will do everything we can to bring Leo Messi back to Barcelona."
In a Monday morning broadcast on TV3, Laporta continued to pursue Messi, stating that the Argentine is pushing for a return to Camp Nou as well despite receiving a sizable offer to relocate to Saudi Arabia.
I wouldn't want to bother Leo right now because he's still in a bad situation in Paris, Laporta added. "We'll work to make the team better overall.
"I discussed the matter with Messi during our conversation. It was really lovely. Our bond has been repaired. Messi wants Barcelona and believes that this team is his home, but to talk now would be detrimental to him.
