Retired Chief of Police, COP Nathan Kofi Boakye, wasappointed by the state and sworn in as a Notary Public of the Supreme Court of Ghana.
Until his retirement on April 5, 2023, COP Kofi Boakye was the Director of Legal and Judicial Affairs of the Ghana Police. Sworn as a notary public andabout 90 other influential people who are lawyers in private practice with at least 10 years of professionalexperience and integrity.
A notary public is a person authorized by the state, among other things, to administer oaths, certify documents, certify the authenticity of signatures and perform official duties in commercial matters, such as the preservation of commercial documents. COP Kofi Boakye is known for his strong views on corruption and crime in Ghana during his tenure. He arrested manycontroversial people, including musicians and politicians.
