Take my 4 year career with Sarkodie's career, it's nowhere near - Black Sherif
Black Sherif is an award winning Ghanaian hip-hop artist
Ghanaian musician, Black Sherif, has asked Ghanaians to refrainfrom defending what he described as baselesscomparisons between him and his colleague, Sarkodie.
He said this while responding saying that Sarkodie Jamz'salbum would not have beensuccessful without his famous "Country Side" collaboration with the rapper. "Country Style", one of the songs from Sarkodie's "Jamz" album, was considered his only hit single.
It was tagged as the album'smost popular song, given the traction it gained from fans and Black Sheriff's influence. Butreacting to such a statementduring an interview with United Showbiz, Black Sherif said:
"If I hadn't been on the album, it still would have been what it should have been. Albums and music are spiritual things. I don't know his fate. If I wasn'ton the album, it would still gothe way it should go. "Sarkodiewas doing those years before me, who am I to tell him that his album wouldn't have been big without me? I've only been doing music for four years, take that away from how many years he's been playing fear and see what he can do. It doesn't matter,” he said.
However, he lamented the current tendency to createunhealthy competition, hostility between artists andsocial networks just for the sake of order. "People sit on the Internet, buy data and pursue certain goals just for the sake of the system. This is what is happening nowadays. In thereal world, love is between us. Lots of love. But some people on social media have chosen to create enmity between us and that is very bad.
