BARCELONA CROWNED 2023 LA LIGA CHAMPIONS.

A year ago



Barcelona defeated local rival Espanyol 4-2, winning their first LaLiga championship since 2019.

However, the joy was short-lived when Espanyol supporters invaded the field as Barcelona players were celebrating their victory after the game. The athletes were compelled to run through the tunnel.

After Alejandro Balde's goal in the 20th minute, Robert Lewandowski scored a brace, and Jules Kounde added the team's fourth goal just after halftime.

With just four games remaining, Barcelona leads Real Madrid by 14 points at the top of the table despite Javier Puado's goal for Espanyol and Joselu's late goal.


After falling to bottom-of-the-table Elche 1-0, Atletico Madrid lost the chance to overtake rival Real Madrid in second after Fidel scored shortly before halftime thanks to a mistake by goalkeeper Ivo Grbic.

Sevilla defeated Real Valladolid by a comfortable margin after scoring three goals in the second half.

The visitors took the lead with to goals from Rafa Mir and Papu Gomez before Tecatito Corona, playing in his first game since August, scored the game-winning goal in stoppage time.

Valencia defeated Celta Vigo 2-1 thanks to a late goal from Alberto Mari.


Prior to Gabriel Paulista of Valencia receiving a second yellow card, Justin Kluivert gave the visitors the lead before Haris Seferovic tied the score. Mari then scored the game-winning goal.

After rallying from behind to defeat bottom-of-the-table Angers 3-1, Marseille is still third in Ligue 1.

Abdallah Sima gave the visitors the lead, but Alexis Sanchez swiftly pulled them even before Dimitri Payet and Jordan Veretout clinched the victory.

Arthur Theate and Benjamin Bourigeaud gave Rennes the lead, and Karl Toko Ekambi scored twice in the final four minutes to give them a 4-0 victory over Troyes as they continued their campaign for European football.


Clermont defeated Lyon 2-1 with to two goals from Grejohn Kyei, and Brest defeated Auxerre 1-0 thanks to Jeremy Le Douaron's goal in the second half.
