Manchester United have the most entries on the list to win the first title in history
Jose Mourinho's Chelsea unexpectedly failed to make the top 5 despite semi-final success in west London
As it stands, Manchester City will be crowned English champions for a third time in a row next weekend if they beat Chelsea at the Etihad.
Victory over a fumbling Chelsea at home looks assured, with Pep Guardiola's side on track to win the title with two games left. Or three, if Arsenal drop points against Nottingham.

At one point, it seemed as if Arsenal would hunt down the defending champions and bring them to the final day. Winning the tournament with two matches left shows how competitive a tournament is. But as Sports Brief reports, teams have previously won the title when there were more games left.
1. Manchester United - 2000/2001 - 5 games
Sir Alex Ferguson was a "HUMAN" during his long time in charge of the Red Devils. Of his 13 Premier League titles, he is ahead of nearest rivals Arsenal, with five remaining.

2.Manchester City - 2017/2018 - 5 matches
The only person who can repeat Ferguson's success at Premier League bar Arsene Wenger is Pep Guardiola. After a difficult first season at Manchester, the respected Spaniard quickly established his dominance.
Manchester City nearly broke Ferguson's five-game record, but Paul Pogba inspired a spectacular second-half comeback in the Manchester derby to postpone their celebrations. A week later, Jose Mourinho's men lost to West Brom as City beat Tottenham to win the title.
3. Manchester United - 1999/2000 - 4 games
Most Premier League stories still have to feature Ferguson. The Red Devils set the record in 2000 when they won the league with four games remaining after beating Southampton 3-1.
It just went through a disappointing Champions League loss to Real Madrid, but they put the woes aside to beat, guess what, Arsenal. 4.Manchester United - 2012/2013 - 4 games
Wouldn't it be a bit boring to see United again? Get used to it. That is Ferguson's ability. This is still the last Premier League title they have won to date and, coincidentally, it happened in Ferguson's final year. They beat Aston Villa 3-0 to capitalize on Manchester City's loss to Spurs the day before to win the league and say goodbye to Ferguson like a fairy tale.
5. Arsenal - 2003/2004 - 4 games
Arsene Wenger's Invincibles remain one of the most highly regarded teams in Premier League history, alongside the treble winners Ferguson and Guardiola's Centurions.
In addition to being unbeaten all season and winning against the remaining 4 games, the Gunners have done it against their worst opponent - Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs need a win to delay Arsenal's title chances but can only secure a two-leg draw. This is still the last league title won by Arsenal.

honorable mention
Jose Mourinho's Chelsea have won the league twice with three games remaining in his two separate tenures at the club. Manchester City's current squad can only join them if Arsenal fail to beat Nottingham Forest a day earlier before facing Chelsea.
