After excelling during Liverpool's 3-0 victory over Leicester City, Jamie Carragher stated that Trent Alexander-Arnold is currently "pushing Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham" to start in England's midfield.

At the King Power Stadium on Monday night, the 24-year-old, who has stepped up to play a more advanced role in Jurgen Klopp's midfield this season, netted a free-kick that was just beautiful from more over 20 yards out.

Despite the fact that it was only his second league goal of the year, Alexander-Arnold stood out during the game and, in the words of Carragher, has appeared're-energised' ever since he moved into his new advanced role.

Since the wing-back has started each of Liverpool's last seven victories in the Premier League, Carragher thought that he now had a strong case to start in the middle of the England team's midfield under Gareth Southgate.

I observed a player who nearly seemed re-energized. Carragher stated during Monday Night Football on Sky Sports.

Supporters will occasionally ask players if they are giving their all. When things aren't going well and everyone is feeling sad, I believe that oftentimes the problem is psychological. You nearly have the option of not appearing as though you are giving your all.

He seemed to be ecstatic that he is playing in midfield right now and that he is quick. He appears more animated.

He appears to have a fresh lease on life, at least that's how it feels to me. The figures show that he has been a revelation. However, from observing his entire performance, it is true that he appears re-energized.

He is currently challenging midfielders as well. You've got Rice, Bellingham, and I think he's pushing them, we genuinely say.

Forget about a hybrid position; he can play midfield. We probably never discuss a full-back as much as we do him.

He is unlike anyone we have ever seen. How well he handles the ball, crosses, free kicks, and his ability to make passes of 40 to 50 yards to get people through.

There is no disputing that he occasionally slips up defensively, yet he appears to attract more attention than any other full-back in Premier League history.

We'll have more soon.
