Petr Cech has been inducted into the EPL Hall of Fame.

Petr Cech is one of the best players to have played in the Premier League and became the latest star to be inducted into the Hall of Fame on Wednesday after Rio Ferdinand, as recognized by the sector's Hall of Fame.

Petr Cech has been inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame. The Premier League Legends were selected from a field of 15 finalists by fans around the world via online public voting and a panel of judges for the Premier League Awards.

Cech will join Rio Ferdinand, Sir Alex Ferguson and former Gunners manager Arsene Wenger as candidates for the 2023 Hall of Fame.

It should perhaps come as little surprise the former Chelsea star has made the cut as he has recorded more clean sheets than any other Premier League goalkeeper, 202 across 443 appearances. He also precided over Chelsea's goal to only concede 15 goals and keep 24 clean sheets in his debut season, in a record start to a career that saw the goalkeeper become Premier League champion four times.

The former shotstopper and ex-Blues peformance and technical director said:

"When I was a child growing up in communist Czechoslovakia, playing in the Premier League was an unimaginable dream. When I look back to where I started, diving on rock solid pitches with stones like golf balls, it has been an amazing journey."

He added:

“I hope to be known as someone who showed effort, commitment, and consistency. Making a great save feels the same as scoring a goal and I'm proud of my clean sheet record, but I was even more happy when those clean sheets won matches and points for the team and contributed to titles!

“It's an honour for me to be voted into the Hall of Fame in the best league in the world. This is truly a special appreciation and leaves a legacy. I'm proud that the fans voted for me and appreciated my years of playing. "

Additionally, Cech would have liked to play Hall of Famer Sergio Aguero and pointed to Wayne Rooney as the toughest member, saying, "Because I saw Michael Essien collide with a player and fall. It's the only time in my career," he said. What does he expect from Kevin De Bruyne in the future?

The former Czech international also gave insight into how Chelsea managed to concede a record number of goals in their first season.

“We are proud as a team that we kept a clean sheet. Not just the defenders and goalkeepers, but everyone did what they could to make sure we didn't lose when we couldn't win.” If you don't give up, you can get 3 points with 1 more shots.

"I'm proud of it. Conceding goals this season was a beautiful and unforgettable experience, but when you finish third, you think:

"Okay, great. I have all the records, but all I really wanted was the title."

"Those goals were decisive for the title. That's what really sets me apart, every goal not only contributed to every record, but most of all to the title."
