By hammering relegation-threatened Leicester, Jurgen Klopp increased the pressure on Newcastle and Manchester United as Liverpool closed in on the Champions League berths by one point.
Thanks to a brace from Curtis Jones in the first half and an incredible goal from Trent Alexander-Arnold in the second, Liverpool won their seventh game in a row and qualified for the European Football Championship.
Despite the fact that fourth-placed Manchester United and third-placed Newcastle both have a game in hand on Klopp's squad, Liverpool is the overwhelming favorite to win their remaining two matches against Aston Villa and Southampton due to their current momentum.
Klopp remarked, "I've been in that situation before. You hope the team that is pursuing you loses so that you are relieved of that strain. We have faced situations in the past where we were required to keep winning.
"I anticipate Newcastle and Manchester United to act similarly, but it's our responsibility to keep them on their toes with our current form." We play Aston Villa at the weekend, which will be quite challenging.
