Arsenal players received a warning from Mikel Arteta on how they behaved in the second half of Sunday's loss to Brighton.
On Sunday, the Gunners needed a victory at the Emirates Stadium to maintain their lead over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League standings, but they were soundly defeated 3-0 by Brighton.
After a first half that was fairly evenly contested, Roberto De Zerbi's team put up a fight in the second half, outplaying Arsenal and scoring three goals in the process.
Speaking to the media after the game, Arteta was eager to caution his team that a performance like that cannot be reproduced in a game with such high stakes.
"You cannot do what we did in the second half," he remarked. "If the team is capable of doing that, there are many things we have to consider when it comes to the biggest stage,"
Due to the loss, Man City still has a chance to win the league title next weekend if they overcome an awful Chelsea team.
Mathematically, it's still possible, Arteta responded when Sky Sports questioned whether or not the title battle was gone.
But thinking about it today is impossible. We need to process the outcome and the second-half performance, comprehend why, and respond differently.
Midfielder Martin Odegaard expressed his feeling that there is "no hope" of the team climbing back to the top of the standings this year and effectively conceded defeat in the title fight.

Following Sunday's shocking 3-0 loss to Brighton, Arsenal player Martin Odegaard acknowledged there is "no hope" for the Gunners to win the Premier League championship.
Arsenal suffered a humiliating loss at the hands of Julio Enciso, Deniz Undav, and Pervis Estupinan. As a result, they are now four points behind Manchester City, who still have a game in hand against Brighton on May 24.
