Bobby Vincent of football.london discusses why Chelsea should do all effort to attempt and bring in Harry Kane from Tottenham during the summer transfer window.

Gus Poyet, Jimmy Greaves, Glenn Hoddle, and William Gallas. There aren't many athletes who have spent their entire professional careers playing for both Chelsea and Tottenham.

a competition between cities that dates back to the 1960s. The 1967 FA Cup final, also referred to as "the Cockney Cup final," saw Spurs prevail 2-1. It kicked off the intense rivalry between the two London clubs that has since developed.

A younger age may recall the infamous "Battle of the Bridge" that occurred in 2016. Tottenham was aiming for their first Premier League championship knowing that a loss at Stamford Bridge would give the championship to Leicester City. Mark Clattenburg served as the match's referee, issuing a total of 12 yellow cards.

With a goal in the 83rd minute, Eden Hazard gave Chelsea the victory and sent the Bridge into ecstasy. A goal that both sets of supporters will never forget, but for very different causes.

Therefore, it should come as no surprise that there isn't much direct transfer activity between these two fierce rivals. But this summer, there is a rumor that won't go away—and it must be emphasized that this is what it is right now. Chelsea will get Harry Kane.

For Spurs supporters, the unthinkable. Can the manager and striker have an unusual reunion now that Mauricio Pochettino is expected to be named Chelsea's new permanent head coach in time for the 2023–24 season?

During their five years at Tottenham, Pochettino and Kane are considered to have had a wonderful working relationship. Kane's Spurs debut was given by Tim Sherwood, but Pochettino is seen to have played a major role in developing him into the world-class striker he is today.

Of course, Chelsea is seeking a player who can go out and score 25 to 30 goals per season. Even though Kai Havertz has only scored seven Premier League goals this year, he leads the team in scoring in the top division. That's completely unacceptable, and it's not like the objectives have been disseminated widely either.

Raheem Sterling follows, having scored twice against Nottingham Forest on Saturday to bring his season total to six goals. The next three goals are scored by Conor Gallagher, Mason Mount, and Joao Felix. In 35 Premier League games, Chelsea has scored 36 goals, or just over one goal per game.

The Gabonese striker was supposed to be the one who takes advantage of the majority of openings that the Chelsea attack generates. Therefore, the search for goal scorer No. 9 continues, and Kane is the ideal candidate.

In 315 games with Spurs, the 29-year-old has 210 Premier League goals. Despite having won three Golden Boots in the Premier League, Kane has not yet won a significant trophy with Tottenham.

Kane could become the face of the owners' long-term project, and Chelsea would be well on their way to achieving that goal. Of course, the way Chelsea is performing right now makes it unlikely that they will be adding to their trophy collection any time soon. Pochettino would undoubtedly adore a chance to work with Kane again to launch his Chelsea career.

Consider some of the opportunities Chelsea has had this year, and picture Kane taking advantage of them. The Blues would be in many more positions in the Premier League than they are presently, and we would be discussing the team very differently.

Since Manchester City has been so successful under Pep Guardiola, many people have argued that they don't really need a "trademark No. 9." However, they went ahead and signed Erling Haaland last summer, and less than a year later, they are vying for the treble and are well-positioned to do so.

Tottenham probably won't accept any proposals, much less one from Chelsea. But why not try to shake Kane up somehow if the Blues can?
