Democratic National Congress flag bearer John Dramani Mahama said the NPP government has failed and willbe ready to step down in the 2024 elections.
He said the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia Government will start preparing its bills and be ready to answer questions to Ghanaians for its management. The NDC flag bearer who was addressing supporters of theparty in Tamale during his welcome speech said there is hope that Ghana will believe in the collective power of the NDC to lead a reform program that will bring back good values, bring back the desires andaspirations of the youth.
“Ours will be a progressive government that provides equal opportunities for a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. I am confident that by working with the people of Ghana, we will transform the despair of Ghanatoday into a bright and prosperous future,” he said.
Mahama said the government'seconomic unit has shown greatincompetence, mismanaged Ghana's economy and caused great hardship to Ghanaians. Hesaid that as a leader, his wordsshould always be true, sincere and true and count for something.
"If you don't tell the truth, you lose people's trust."
He said that with the current economic situation in the country including a decline ineconomic status, he wondered what happened to the properties that were handed over to the NPP government. Mr. Mahama said that no government in Ghana's fourth country has the amount of money the government currently has and they arehiding the truth.
He said Ghanaians cannot allow the NPP to continue the progress of the country.
