Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti a few days ago was in the news of videos of him assaulting a police officer going viral on social media. Seun in the early hours of Monday was invited over by the police and was quickly arrested and charged with assault of a police officer in uniform. In a new case going viral, the manager for the singer identified as Ayo Moses narrated what transpired leading to Seun slapping the police officer.
Read his narration below;
“On the said day, Seun was driving with his family on the third mainland bridge, when he was suddenly h#t from behind, by a police truck being driven by an officer who was reportedly dr¥nk.
This act from the officer led Seun’s daughter into a sudden sh%ck, as she was visibly shaken by the h#t. So, this made Seun pursue the truck, double-crossed it, and forced it to a stop.
When the police officer got down from the truck, instead of apologizing, he was arguing with Seun, which provoked him to sl@p the officer.
People should realize that men in uniforms also provoke civilians. Immunity is no excuse for impunity.”
After the video began going viral, Seun took to his official Instagram handle and revealed that the police officer tried killing himself and his family hence his aggression and attack. He further added that the police officer has accepted his mistake and apologized and for that, he is not going to press charges against the officer, however, according to the laws, it is an offense and illegal to attack an officer in uniform.

“This is a complete sham and I hope this is not the
narrative Seun's team is presenting to the court. To
even thinking that he chased down a Police Van, accosted a uniformed Policeman, and then went on to assault him because he hit your car from the back must be a joke! That means all the Kekes, Danfos, Private Cars, and Okada hitting us should all be hospitalized by now if this is the ideal way to react. Unacceptable to say the least, this type of dangerous, show of power must be discouraged and an apology isn't enough”.
@walshakg...
“The policeman was not drunk. But I don't even
know who to defend. Especially when I remember the havoc policemen have committed in this country”.
@sonofsandsel
“The police we all saw in that video was not drunk... Seun just wanted to show his arrogance, he must be jailed”.

“Portable is smarter than Sun Kutin We all know some of the officers can act unprofessionally at times but if society completely loses their respect for the uniform personnel, We will all be in serious trouble”.
