There are 356 new students at the Family Health University College (FHUC) in Accra.
Aside from that, 109 students who had taken a variety of courses graduated from the college.
The Medical School and School of Nursing and Midwifery had a matriculation and graduation ceremony where this was announced.
Breakdown
A total of 56 freshmen matriculated for medical sciences during the event, and 27 members of the class of 2022 medical students received BSc in Medical Sciences degrees.
329 freshmen also matriculated for the nursing and midwifery programs.
Of the total, 258 will pursue a BSc in Nursing and Midwifery, while 71 others will enroll in the Nurse Assistant Clinical (NAC) Program.
55 nurse assistant clinical students, 27 BSc nursing students, and 27 BSc midwifery students graduated in total.
Professor Ernest Aryeetey, a former vice chancellor of the University of Ghana, spoke during the event and praised Professor Enyonam Yao Kwawukume and Dr. Susu Bridget Kwawukume, the founders of the Family Health University College (FHUC), for having the vision to advance healthcare education in the nation.
He claims that the two entered an area that was previously unheard of for the commercial sector—medical education—and that through effort and perseverance, their vision had come to pass, helping countless individuals who would later go on to become nurses and physicians and offer priceless services to society.
Advise
Prof. Aryeetey tasked the graduates with using their education-based knowledge and abilities to create a positive social influence.
According to him, one of the finest methods to remove obstacles and open doors for everyone is through education.
He advised the children to use their education as a springboard for bigger things in life and as a chance to create a bright future for themselves.
He urged the graduates once more to conduct themselves positively in all undertakings and to serve as worthy representatives of the FHUC as well as their respective careers.
For his part, Prof. Yao Kwawukume, the president of FHUC, stated that the institution had a thorough educational program to make sure students were well-prepared for the difficulties of the healthcare industry.
He said that knowledgeable, experienced teachers and administrators were always eager to help kids get the information and abilities they would need to achieve.
He counseled the graduates to proceed in a spirit of perseverance and dedication, keeping in mind to manage their time well and to step up into leadership positions when the chance arose.
