The summer transfer window is fast approaching and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has planned to remove several players from his squad. The Gunners are currently chasing the title, second in the Premier League table with 81 points from 36 games. However, Arteta is keen to make some changes to his squad ahead of next season, according to The Times UK.
One of the biggest names that could leave Arsenal is Granit Xhaka. The Swiss midfielder has been linked with leaving the Emirates Stadium for some time and it looks like this summer could be the time for him to leave. Xhaka has been a regular starter in Arteta's squad this season but the Gunners boss may be looking for a more dynamic option in midfield.

Another player who could leave Arsenal is Emile Smith Rowe. The young midfielder showed his potential last season but Arteta may think he may not need him next season. Folarin Balogun is another young player who could be sold by Arsenal this summer.
Defenders Rob Holding, Nuno Tavares and Cedric Soares are also said to be on Arteta's liquidation list. Holding has struggled to find game time this season, while midfielders Lokonga and Tavares have both been loaned out.

One player who could leave Arsenal despite being a key part of their team is Kieran Tierney, but he has limited minutes due to the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko. Tierney is expected to move to Newcastle in the summer transfer window. The Scottish left-back has been one of Arsenal's best performers in recent seasons, but it looks like he will have to leave.
All in all, it looks like Arteta is looking to make some significant changes to his roster this summer. With Arsenal currently in the title race, the Gunners manager is clearly thinking about the long-term future of the team. It remains to be seen which players will leave and who will arrive, but one thing is for sure: Arsenal fans can expect a busy summer transfer window.
