Barcelona midfielder Pedri has reflected on the scenes from the Blaugrana's title-winning victory at RCDE Stadium and perhaps rubbed salt in Espanyol's wounds, while also highlighting the gravity of the situation.

The Canary Islander suggested that he had to run quicker to get away from Espanyol's fans than from their players. The ugly pitch invasion put a sour note on an evening which saw six goals and the visitors crowned champions as home fans unjustifiably stormed the pitch, causing fear and panic.

"We were celebrating on the pitch," explained Pedir on 'El Hormiguero'.

"We didn't do it out of a lack of respect.

"We were in a big circle and then someone said 'run, run' and I ran more then than in the whole game."

Hoping for City-Inter final

Pedri was also asked in the light-hearted interview about his preferences for the Champions League final and he admitted he hopes to see arch rivals Real Madrid knocked out.

"I'm not going to say I'd prefer Madrid to go through," said Pedri.

"I'd rather City reach the final. Also, I like Guardiola's style of play."

Relationship with Xavi

After a successful season, Pedri reflected on the campaign, which brought both his first LaLiga Santander title as a player and Xavi's as a coach. The young midfielder spoke about the head coach's closeness with the players.

"He's a very close guy. He was a player and knows what we're like," said Pedri.

"He was young and knows how to treat us. I've had to take the odd telling off from him though.

"Sometimes he starts calmly then raises the tone. He gets angrier as he talks. I just shut up and nod, I don't get myself into trouble."

Title party

Barcelona still have four LaLiga Santander games to play this season, but their campaign is effectively all wrapped up already. Confirmed as champions, the remaining games are just about pride, and the team have already celebrated their hard-earned success.

"[The title party] was fun, we had a good time at the party," admitted Pedri.

"There was karaoke. Some may have gotten up on the tables, or gotten a bit drunk as well."
