Angry Liverpool fan Mohamed Salah was NOT included in the six-man shortlist for the 2023 PFA Fan Player of the Year award.

Salah has been in fine form this season despite Liverpool's disappointing Premier League campaign.

He has 19 league goals and 10 other assists, after scoring a hat-trick in the team's bold 3-0 win over Leicester City last Monday.

That's 29 goals, more than both Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka, both of whom were shortlisted for the PFA Fan Player of the Year award.

Manchester City duo Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland, Saka's team-mate Martin Odegaard and Tottenam's Harry Kane are among the nominees for the individual award.

Salah's lack of name among the nominees for the award has angered Liverpool fans online as they express their feelings.

One Twitter user wrote:

"The disrespect he gets is unbelievable. He's probably the most consistent player in the Premier League with goals and assists combined."

A second tweet:

"Just because he missed two pens doesn't mean he can't be on the list. He has scored more goals than some of the names on the list."

The third added:

"Most disrespectful player ever."

The fourth said:

"Mo's disrespect on and off the pitch is insane. Constantly underrated."

Fifth comment:

"There's no way he's not nominated, but Rashford and Saka do... They're really biased towards English players."

Salah has two more games to go to break the season record of 20 goals.

But he hit 30 goals in all competitions for a third consecutive season as he enjoys another prolific campaign for Liverpool.

The Egypt international has been one of Liverpool's few bright spots this season in a rather disappointing season.

Arsenal are set to enter contract talks with captain Martin Odegaard as one of four players they are looking to sign a new contract, according to a new report.

Odegaard has been one of Arsenal's star players this season and the team's top scorer in the Premier League this season. He has 15 goals from midfield, equal to Gabriel Martinelli.

His leadership qualities have also been praised, as he kept Arsenal top of the league for much of the campaign before being overtaken by Manchester City last month.

In October, Athletic announced that the Gunners were keen to reward players for their performances by providing them with improved signings, although their current contracts are still a while away. time to perform. Advertisement

And Odegaard is said to be one of four players Arsenal are desperate to keep at the club.

Martin Odegaard 'ready for big Arsenal deal'

The London Evening Standard claim the Gunners are close to opening talks with Odegaard - and are ready to hand him a contract that reflects his status as one of the Premier League's best players.

Arsenal's stance on Odegaard backs up its original statement last year that it wanted to reward players for their performances at the club. The Norwegian has a contract until 2025, with the option of an extra year, after moving from Real Madrid to the Emirates Stadium in 2021.

However, the Gunners clearly want to avoid interest from other clubs by paying Odegaard a much higher salary - and his contract is one of many Arsenal's plans for next season. They are close to finalizing a deal to give goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale a new contract, while winger Bukayo Saka, according to The Athletic, has agreed to a new contract in principle.

William Saliba is another player Arsenal are hoping to sign on new terms, before attention turns to domestic transfers.

They have been linked with moves for West Ham's Declan Rice and Brighton's Moises Caicedo, with The Times claiming on Monday that coach Mikel Arteta could sell up to 10 players to fund the move.
