Sex and Childbearing
Sexual intercourse (or coitus or copulation) is a sexual activity typically involving the insertion and thrusting of the penis into the vagina for sexual pleasure or reproduction or both. This is also known as vaginal intercourse or vaginal sex.
Childbearing is the process of giving birth to children.
Sex and childbearing are related because sex leads to childbearing.
Sex is very pleasurable and very good to one health.Sex plays important role when it comes to childbearing even though now there is vasectomy.
As I said early on,sex is very pleasurable as results most people are abusing it and which brings serious significant issues to oneself and society as a whole.
Sex should be planned since leads to childbearing because childbearing entails a lot. There are a lot of untapped and undiscovered talents and intelligence lying covered under impoverishment and destitution as a result of unplanned sex and impromptu childbearing.
We are not condemning sex, sex is very important for procreation and one’s health but it’s more healthier when one sex life is planned.
When one sex life is planned it helps to prevent STI’s because planning sex does not mean planning the day or the event you want to have sex but rather it also takes account to planning whom you want to have sex with.Just because you want to have sex does not mean you have to do it with anyone, one ought to be selective in terms of choosing sex partners.
More than 1 million sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are acquired every day worldwide, the majority of which are asymptomatic. Each year there are an estimated 374 million new infections with 1 of 4 curable STIs: chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis and trichomoniasis. Before you have sex with someone have to check his or her STI’s status, not only STI’s status but the person genotype as well so that having a sickle cell children can be prevented.
One of the biggest failures in life is to bring forth a offspring and fails to take care of them. One has to plan when and where he or she wants to have to children.
Planning to have children requires you to schedule how you intend to feed the child, his or her schooling, how to support the child and among others
There is an assumption that God takes care of children. Therefore some people are taking advantage of this assumption and giving birth to children without planning which affects the child and the parents themselves.
One of the best ways to prevent impromptu childbearing is staying abstinence from sexual intercourse because sex leads to childbearing.
Yes,since sex is addictive and pleasurable many people cannot abstain from it.
Here are the options available to prevent unwanted pregnancies and impromptu childbearing
1.The use of condom.
Condoms are the only form of contraception that also prevent STI’s as well as pregnancy. They are hormone free, can be used on demand and will easily fit into purse or knapsacks. There are male and female varieties.
Note that, condoms can tear or come off during sex if not used properly
2.Oral contraceptive pill.
The combined oral contraceptive pill (COCP), often referred to as the birth control pill or colloquially as "the pill", is a type of birth control that is designed to be taken orally by women. The pill contains two important hormones: a progestin (a synthetic form of the hormone progestogen/progesterone) and estrogens. When taken correctly, it alters the menstrual cycle to eliminate ovulation and prevent pregnancy.
Highly effective when used correctly,it permit sexual spontaneity and does not interrupt sex.
3.Intrauterine Device (IUD)
An intrauterine device (IUD), also known as intrauterine contraceptive device (IUCD or ICD) or coil,is a small, often T-shaped birth control device that is inserted into the uterus to prevent pregnancy.IUDs are one form of long-acting reversible birth control (LARC).One study found that female family planning providers choose LARC methods more often (41.7%) than the general public (12.1%).Among birth control methods, IUDs, along with other contraceptive implants result in the greatest satisfaction among users.
Irregular bleeding and spotting occurs in first six months of use,it requires trained health care provider for insertion and removal. It does not prevent STI’s.
4.Contraceptive Implant
A contraceptive implant is an implantable medical device used for the purpose of birth control. The implant may depend on the timed release of hormones to hinder ovulation or sperm development, the ability of copper to act as a natural spermicide within the uterus,or it may work using a non-hormonal, physical blocking mechanism. As with other contraceptives, a contraceptive implant is designed to prevent pregnancy, but it does not prevent STI’s.
5.Contraceptive Injection
The injection contains a synthetic form of progestogen. It’s given to a woman buttocks or upper arm,and over 12 weeks the hormone is slowly released into the bloodstream.
It last up to three months and it’s highly effective.
6.Morning after pills
Morning after pills are called emergency contraception,it’s used after sex when contraception is not used, contraception failed or a woman who has been sexually assaulted. The pill contains special dose which prevents pregnancy up to five days after having unprotected sex. It’s more effective when earlier taken.
7.Contraceptive Ring
The vaginal ring (NuvaRing) is a small soft, plastic ring that you place inside your vagina.
It releases a continuous dose of the hormones oestrogen and progestogen into the bloodstream to prevent pregnancy.
8.Diaphragm
The diaphragm is a barrier method of birth control. It is moderately effective, with a one-year failure rate of around 12% with typical use.It is placed over the cervix with spermicide before sex and left in place for at least six hours after sex.Fitting by a healthcare provider is generally required.
9.Tubal litigation
Tubal ligation (commonly known as having one's "tubes tied") is a surgical procedure for female sterilization in which the fallopian tube permanently blocked, clipped or removed. This prevents the fertilization of eggs by sperm and thus the implantation of a fertilized egg. Tubal ligation is considered a permanent method of sterilization and birth control
Lastly,Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy by removal or expulsion of an embryo or fetus. An abortion that occurs without intervention is known as a miscarriage or "spontaneous abortion"; these occur in approximately 30% to 40% of all pregnancies. When deliberate steps are taken to end a pregnancy, it is called an induced abortion, or less frequently "induced miscarriage". The unmodified word abortion generally refers to an induced abortion. The reasons why women have abortions are diverse and vary across the world.Reasons include maternal health,an ability to afford a child, domestic violence, lack of support, feeling they are too young, wishing to complete education or advance a career, and not being able or willing to raise a child conceived as a result of rape or incest.
Note that we are not recommending abortion but to bring forth an offspring without being unable to take care of them,it’s rather fair to terminate the pregnancy.Abortions can have dire consequences only subscribe to when all the above options are exhausted.
