After completing four years of instruction in subjects including Bible theology, Christian counseling, education, and leadership, three Christian leaders have received Doctors of Ministry (DMin) degrees from Vision International University.
They are E.T. Mensah, a member of the Council of State; Apostle Peter Owusu Aboagye, the CEO of West African Terminals Limited; and Very Reverend Solomon Aryetey Patterson, the Superintendent Minister of the Methodist Church's South Accra Circuit.
The university, which is a global distance learning network, offers online learning courses from certificate to master's degree and trains church leaders, educators, and other professionals in leadership in diverse domains of Christian service.
Christian direction
At a small ceremony held at the Bethel Methodist Church in Accra to present them with their awards, Dr. Stanley DeKoven, the founder and president of Vision International University, challenged the awadees to teach, preach, and put what they had learned into practice last Sunday.
In order for them to carry out God's job, he also advised them to put their health first.
He urged Christian leaders to develop their skills, saying that doing so would benefit the church, the kingdom of God, and themselves.
"We believe in individual callings and that every Christian should receive ministry training.
We are dedicated to assisting our students in fulfilling their ministry objectives, he stated.
In order to accomplish God's purpose in their lives, Christian leaders, according to Dr. DeKoven, must make sure that their emotions are in harmony with the truth of God's word.
Integrity: "Walk in honesty and integrity; be righteous in the eyes of God and people; and permit the Holy Spirit to lead and control your life each day.
You'll then enjoy affluence during your travels, he assured them.
"We believe that every one of you will be an ambassador that will teach and preach the Word of God anywhere and wherever God calls you," he continued.
The Very Rev. Dr. Mathias Kwesi Forson, National Director of Vision International University in Ghana, advised Christians to develop their abilities in the ministry to distinguish between sound and false theology.
In order to meaningfully contribute to ensuring prosperity in their homes, churches, and nation, he said, it was crucial for Christians to educate themselves in the Bible.
Speaking on their behalf, Mr. Mensah pledged to mentor other Christian leaders in preaching and leading the word of God.
Quality
He admitted that they possessed the tools necessary to provide high-quality growth in the fields to which they were called, and he said that their knowledge was more important than ever.
He urged his coworkers to apply their skills and expertise to advance mankind.
The capacity to keep learning is one of the most crucial skills we have learned, and as we move forward from this point, we must keep this in mind.
We shall continue to advance in our fields of study since "the pursuit of knowledge is a lifelong journey," he declared.
