Edem Agbana was proclaimed the winner of the Ketu North primary by the NDC.

The Ketu North constituency in the Volta Region's parliamentary primary held on Saturday has been deemed the winner by Eric Edem Agbana.

Following a meeting with the candidates in the constituency election on Tuesday, the NDC's National Executive came to the conclusion that Agbana had received 360 votes.

John Kobla Adanu received 359 votes, which was the most.

Since there won't be a run-off as originally anticipated, Agbana will now represent the NDC in Ketu North at the 2024 parliamentary election.

Speaking to the media following the meeting in Accra on Tuesday, NDC General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey stated that the national executive's investigations revealed there were no multiple votes.

And that the serial numbers on the ballots that were allegedly found to not have had stamps at the back of validation came from the booklet that was given out for the polling place.

Accordingly, the national government has determined that the will of the people must be recognized and that Edem Agbana will stand for the NDC in the Ketu North parliamentary election in 2024.

"Overall, there was agreement at the table that the ballots [in issue] were a crucial component of the ballot booklet that was sent to that constituency by the national office. They were not foreign materials as a result. Additionally, we looked to make sure there wasn't any vote fraud.

Mr. Kwetey stated that all of the ballots found in the vote box were included in the counting procedure carried out by the candidates' representatives.

On the basis of the facts presented, Mr. Kwetey and the party then proclaimed Mr. Agbana the election's victor.

In response to the proclamation, Edem Agbana urged composure and comradery among the party's grassroots supporters in the district.

His call follows the announcement that he won the party's internal poll for the Ketu North constituency.
