Before Eder Militao's own goal and a Julian Alvarez goal, Bernardo Silva scored a brace.

Manchester City put on a spectacular display to dethrone Champions League holders Real Madrid and go to the final. Bernardo Silva scored twice in the first half.

As City earned a convincing 4-0 victory at the Etihad Stadium to advance to next month's Istanbul championship match 5-1 on aggregate, Eder Militao also scored into his own net and Julian Alvarez added another late in the game.

The 14-time European champions were unable to match City's lopsided victory because of their inability to keep up with their mesmerizing team's pace and fluidity.

Even if Toni Kroos did strike the woodwork with the score at 1-0, it was a rare shining moment for a Real team that was just outmatched.

The approaching final versus Inter Milan may now serve as the capstone of an amazing triple for City, who were defeated at the same stage last season.

The hosts got off to a fast start and quickly gained control, which they maintained for virtually the whole game.

Early on in the first leg, they had a lot of the ball as well, but this time they were more dynamic and, unlike last week in the Bernabeu, Madrid didn't appear to be at ease.

After three minutes, Kyle Walker hit the crossbar with a warning shot before Erling Haaland rounded Thibaut Courtois but couldn't find anyone in front of goal.

Prior to Courtois making two outstanding saves to stop Haaland headers, John Stones drove wide and Rodri beat two defenders to strike across the goal.

It came as no surprise when Silva, who had been set up by Kevin De Bruyne, curled a left-footed strike from eight yards inside the near post.

Real had barely moved the ball in the previous 23 minutes, much less left their half, and their troubles continued as Haaland flashed another attempt wide.

The opponents eventually did have some possession, but Walker handled a Vinicius Junior break with ease.
