The plaintiff in a case in which a lady sued a bank's top financial officer for allegedly breaking a promise to look after her was ordered by the High Court in Accra to turn up the vehicle in question to the court.
The High Court Registrar shall get the disputed car in exchange for storage until the case's resolution, the court, presided over by Justice Olivia Obeng Owusu, ruled yesterday.
Car
Deborah Seyram Adablah, the plaintiff, filed a lawsuit at the Accra High Court on January 23 this year, claiming Ernest Kwasi Nimako pledged to purchase her a car, pay for her housing for three years, and provide her with a job.
After divorcing his wife, he marries her, pays her a monthly allowance of GH3,000, and gives her a lump sum to launch a business.
She claims that despite the fact that Nimako purchased the vehicle and had it registered in his name, he has since taken it back, denying her access to it after having it for about a year. Additionally, he only paid for one year of housing despite having promised to cover three years.
But since then, Adablah has had custody of the vehicle and frequently takes it to court dates.
Mr. Nimako has also been ordered to produce all documentation pertaining to the abovementioned automobile as part of the court's directives regarding the car.
After deciding on a request brought forth by the defendant to prevent Adablah from using her social media platforms to damage his reputation, Justice Owusu issued the orders.
In her defense, Adablah claimed that the films were posted before the lawsuit was filed.
Justice Owusu issued a decision on the application and instructed both the plaintiff (Adablah) and the first defendant (Ernest Nimako) to refrain from publishing any information on the case in both conventional and social media.
Reliefs
Adablah argues in the lawsuit that she was coerced into the union while she was performing her national duty at the bank.
Additionally, she charged Nimako with mistreatment, exploitation, abuse, sexual harassment, and harming her reputation.
